About

My name is Bill Lord and I work as Regional Adviser in Literacy for the National Strategies. I am interested in developing strategies for enhancing learning and teaching in literacy and have worked in several action research projects looking at the use of boy friendly strategies, ICT and multimodality.

I am lucky enough to work alongisde some very talented people in my job and to see some inspiring practice. This blog will hopefully enable me to share some of what I have seen and link to research or resources which may help other teachers, advisers and researchers in their work.

The image on the header of this site is cropped from a photo taken by my 9 year old daughter. She has had her own digital SLR for a year and is already showing a far better eye and more skills than her father. A metaphor for the teaching of ICT in Primary maybe!

Please note that any comments posted on this blog are my own opinions and do not represent the views or policies of the National Strategies.
